From BigQuery to Your Customer's Mailbox

This MCP Server turns your Google ADK agent into a physical outreach tool. An agent can pull a list of contacts from a BigQuery table, then loop through them to `send_greeting_card` via AMcards. It bridges your cloud data and the real world. Gemini's long-context window is a great fit here. You can feed your agent extensive customer history, and it can reason about the best time to `trigger_drip_campaign` for a specific user segment. The agent isn't just executing commands; it's making decisions based on the Google Cloud data you already have.

Build Enterprise Agents on Google Cloud

The AMcards tools are exposed to your agent through the `McpToolset`. This gives your Gemini agent the ability to `list_drip_campaigns` and `get_card_sending_history` directly. You're not just sending one-off cards; you're building an automated system on infrastructure you already trust. You can filter which tools are exposed using the `tool_names` parameter during setup. For an agent designed only to report on past activity, you could expose `get_card_sending_history` but block `send_greeting_card`. This lets you build specialized agents that stick to their defined roles within your Google Cloud project.

Reliable MCP Server Operations

Before kicking off a large campaign, your agent can use `check_api_health` to make sure the AMcards API is responsive. This is a simple way to build more robust agents that can handle external service issues gracefully. It's a basic check for any serious enterprise workflow. The Google ADK framework integrates with Vertex AI, giving you a unified place to monitor your agent's actions. When your agent calls `list_configured_webhooks` or any other AMcards tool, you can trace that activity alongside its other operations within the Google Cloud ecosystem.

Setup guide

Set up AMcards MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with AMcards tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="AMcards_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to AMcards tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about AMcards MCP in Google ADK

Instantiate an `McpToolset` with the AMcards server URL and pass it to your `LlmAgent`'s `tools` parameter. The agent will then have access to all the AMcards functions.
Yes. You provide the context and the goal, and the Gemini model can use the `list_card_templates` tool to see available options and then call `send_greeting_card` with its chosen template and message.
Absolutely. When you configure the `McpToolset`, use the `tool_names` filter to provide an explicit list of allowed tools. You can grant access to `get_card_sending_history` but exclude `send_greeting_card`.
Yes. Once connected, your agent can call the `trigger_drip_campaign` tool with a user's ID. It can also use `list_drip_campaigns` to see what automated campaigns are available first.
The server only processes the recipient's name, address, and the card message you provide to the `send_greeting_card` tool. Vinkius isolates each MCP Server in a sandboxed environment, and all communication between your agent and the server is encrypted. Your data isn't co-mingled or persisted beyond the transaction.
