Query American Airlines from Cursor

If you build travel apps, you need real data instead of mocked JSON. The `get_flight_schedule` tool gives your agent actual departure times, aircraft types, and service classes for any route. You are mid-coding and need an example of a multi-leg journey. Cursor pulls the live schedule and formats the exact API response into your test suite. No context switching required.

Real-Time Status Injection

Testing delay logic is painful when you have to fake the inputs. With `get_flight_status`, your editor reaches out and grabs live tracking data for a specific flight number and date. The MCP Server feeds actual delay metrics and gate changes straight to your workspace. Your AI client writes the parsing logic based on a real-world payload instead of a generic stub.

Map Hub Terminals Instantly

Writing a location-based feature requires accurate venue data via MCP. Call `get_airport_info` to pull terminal layouts and amenity coordinates for major aviation hubs. The agent drops the exact terminal structure into your code. You get immediate access to facility locations without having to scrape a public aviation database.

Common questions about American Airlines MCP in Cursor

Turn on Agent mode and ask for a route schedule. The editor calls the schedule tool and returns live aircraft and timing data.
Give the agent a flight number like AA123 and today's date. It fetches the real-time status and drops the JSON response into your open file.
Create an mcp.json file in your project root. Add the server command or remote URL, and you're good to go.
The agent pulls the terminal layout data first. Once that context is in your chat or file, the standard autocomplete uses it to help you write your parsing functions.
Your flight numbers and airport codes run through an ephemeral zero-trust environment. The moment Cursor finishes generating your code, the connection drops and the request data vanishes.
