How to Use the Amplience MCP in Cline
Let Cline build your front-end components using live data directly from your Amplience CMS, all inside VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Amplience MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Amplience to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build Components with Live Amplience Data
This is where Cline shines. Give it a task: "Build a React component for the new promo banner." Cline connects to your Amplience MCP Server, uses `get_content_item` to fetch the banner's data, and then writes the actual component file for you. It doesn't just dump JSON. Cline understands the task, scaffolds the file, imports what's needed, and writes the JSX with the live data. You get a working component, not just a data object.
Manage Your Content Lifecycle with Cline
Your agent can handle the full content workflow. Tell Cline to create a new blog post using a specific schema. It'll use `create_content_item` to build the draft in the right folder within your repository. When you're ready, tell it to "Publish the post about the summer sale." Cline finds the correct item ID, validates the version, and executes `publish_content_item` to push it live to your CDN. It's content management, but with an agent doing the busywork.
Run Audits and Maintenance Tasks
Use Cline to run checks on your Amplience space. You can ask it to "List all content items in the 'Marketing' repository that haven't been updated in 6 months." It will script the calls to `list_repositories` and `list_content_items` to get you the answer. This is also great for cleanup. Once you have a list of old items, you can authorize Cline to run `delete_content_item` on them. It respects the version validation, so it's a safe way to automate content archiving.
