Connect AP Elections API MCP to VS Code Copilot
Create your Vinkius account to connect AP Elections API to VS Code Copilot and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Commit the AP Elections API MCP Server to your repo
By calling `get_election_results`, engineering teams can share election tools across their entire workspace. Your agent can call this tool to verify data structures during code reviews. Everyone on the team gets immediate access to the same tools without configuring individual API keys. Your workspace gets consistent data fetching across all developer environments.
Debug election feeds directly from your editor
The `check_api_status` tool lets you verify the AP feed's availability without leaving your workspace. Your agent runs this check to rule out upstream issues when your local tests fail. It returns a simple status code that tells you if the AP server is responding. This keeps your team focused on writing code instead of debugging external network status.
Map race details and candidate fields automatically
Your agent uses `get_race_details` to inspect vote counts and precinct breakdowns during active development. This provides the exact schema needed to build clean data visualization dashboards. Pairing this with `list_election_candidates` and this MCP connection gives your team a complete picture of the election metadata. Copilot handles the raw data parsing, letting you focus on building the front-end layout.
