Consensus-based AppVeyor builds

Let your AutoGen agents debate whether to trigger a `start_build` after a code merge. One agent checks the `get_project_settings` while another evaluates the current build queue. You avoid accidental deployments through this negotiation process. The system only executes the action once the agents reach a formal agreement.

Multi-agent AppVeyor governance

Assign specific roles to your AutoGen agents to manage users and collaborators. A security-focused agent can review `list_collaborators` before another agent calls `add_collaborator`. You build a system where permissions are checked by a second agent. This adds a layer of deliberation to your administrative tasks.

Automated pipeline negotiation

Use the `McpToolAdapter` to give your agents direct access to AppVeyor tools. They can argue over the best way to handle a `cancel_deployment` if metrics look unstable. This creates a self-correcting CI/CD loop. Your agents use the MCP tools to propose and verify changes within your pipelines.

Setup guide

Set up AppVeyor MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes AppVeyor tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="AppVeyor_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent AppVeyor data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about AppVeyor MCP in AutoGen

Use the MCP server tools adapter to convert endpoints into a format AutoGen understands. You then pass these into your AssistantAgent constructor to begin the debate.
They can. You define a team of agents, and the adapter ensures they all have access to the same toolset for their deliberations.
The server uses a streamable transport to communicate with your agents. This allows for real-time tool execution during your multi-agent conversation.
They do. By design, AutoGen agents will challenge each other's proposed actions. This ensures that a `delete_project` call is only made if the agents agree.
Access to your user list is scoped by your Vinkius endpoint token. Only your authenticated agent team can read or modify sensitive collaborator information.
