Connect Arlo Smart MCP to Claude Desktop
Create your Vinkius account to connect Arlo Smart to Claude Desktop and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Control your cameras from Claude Desktop
You don't need to dig out your phone to check your front porch. The Arlo Smart MCP Server lets your AI client read your home security state and change it on command. Ask Claude to lock down the house, and it runs `list_arlo_devices` to find your hardware, followed by `arm_arlo_device` to activate motion detection. It handles granular mode switching too. If you have custom profiles built in the Arlo app, you can pass them through `set_arlo_device_mode`. Tell your agent you are heading to bed, and it shifts your basestations into nighttime mode automatically.
Pull and review security footage
Finding that one clip of the delivery guy usually means scrolling through a clunky timeline. Now you just give a date range. The `get_arlo_recordings` tool pulls presigned URLs for your video files, returning exact durations and creation dates. Need to check what happened overnight? Run `get_recent_arlo_recordings` to grab the last 24 hours of activity. If your cloud storage is hitting its limit, you can even instruct the agent to clear out old clips using `delete_arlo_recordings`.
Map your entire home security network
Troubleshooting camera connectivity sucks when you cannot see the whole picture. This integration gives you instant visibility into your network topology. Ask for a status report, and it pulls connection states for every piece of hardware using `list_arlo_basestations` and `list_arlo_cameras`. You get the exact device IDs, current battery states, and connection status. If a camera falls offline, you can run `get_arlo_device_modes` to figure out if it is a network drop or just a disabled recording profile.
