Standardized Art Institute of Chicago access in VS Code

Commit your MCP configuration to the repo so your whole team shares the same access. Use `list_tours` to help your team build apps that reference museum experiences. Everyone gets the same results. It removes the friction of individual setup and ensures your team uses consistent museum data.

Automate museum research

Use `get_article` to bring museum research content into your documentation. It makes referencing collection history part of your standard build process. Your agent handles the retrieval. You just get the text you need to build out your features or reports.

Map collection locations

Call `list_places` to pull geographical context for your projects. It bridges the gap between digital data and the physical museum space. This server lets your code interact with the collection's structure directly. It is built for teams that need reliable access to museum records.

  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.
