Write code with live Artsy database responses in Cursor
This Artsy MCP server lets your Cursor agent run `list_artworks` to fetch real, live metadata directly into your active editor session. Stop writing mock JSON for your gallery apps. Your agent uses the actual schema to write accurate TypeScript interfaces and component code. You avoid runtime bugs because your code is built against real-world art data from the start.
Query artist profiles directly from your editor
Querying `search_artsy` directly inside the chat pane lets your agent test queries and pull real artist IDs. If you are building a search feature, this prevents you from having to test endpoints in a separate tool. Running `get_artist_details` lets you see exactly what fields the database returns. You can build your frontend components with confidence, knowing the exact structure of the incoming payload.
Map out exhibition feeds without leaving your workspace
Running `list_shows` and `list_fairs` right inside Cursor allows your agent to pull show schedules instantly. You can instantly generate mock-ups or seed files using live event data. Use `get_gene_details` to categorize these events by historical movements. It gives your agent the exact context needed to write smart sorting algorithms for your art application.
