Enterprise scheduling with Google ADK

Connect your BigQuery client databases directly to your calendar agent. Google ADK lets Gemini models process millions of tokens of customer data, then use this MCP Server to run `create_booking` based on historical sales touchpoints. The model reads your enterprise dataset and cross-references it with real-time calendar availability. It queries `get_slots` and `get_busy_times` to find the perfect meeting window without manual input.

MCP Server pipelines for team management

Automate internal team setups during employee onboarding. Your Google ADK agent can read HR files from Google Cloud Storage and instantly call `create_membership` and `create_team` to organize new hires. This removes manual data entry from your operations. The agent uses `list_schedules` and `create_schedule` to build onboarding tracks that match your team's real-time working hours.

Long-context calendar analysis

Gemini's massive context window lets your agent analyze months of scheduling patterns at once. The agent pulls large batches of historical records via `list_bookings` and processes them inside Vertex AI to identify scheduling bottlenecks. Once it spots an issue, the agent can update your scheduling rules. It calls `update_event_type` or `list_out_of_office` to adjust buffers, ensuring your team has breathing room between calls.

Setup guide

Set up Cal.com MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Cal.com tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Cal.com_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Cal.com tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Cal.com MCP in Google ADK

Instantiate `McpToolset` with your Vinkius HTTP URL in your Python script to connect the MCP server. Pass this toolset directly to your `LlmAgent` to let Gemini call tools like `create_booking` and `get_slots`.
Yes, you can use the optional `tool_names` filter in your `McpToolset` parameters. This lets you expose only read-only tools like `list_event_types` while hiding modification tools like `cancel_booking`.
Yes, your Gemini agent can use the `create_webhook` tool to subscribe to calendar events. This lets your Google Cloud infrastructure receive instant updates whenever a user reschedules a meeting.
The ADK manages tool execution errors gracefully, retrying failed calls if the Cal.com API returns transient errors. If a tool like `get_credits` fails, the agent handles the exception based on your custom error policies.
Vinkius runs the MCP server inside a zero-trust, ephemeral sandbox. Your calendar slots and busy times accessed via `get_busy_times` are never stored, keeping your organizational calendar data isolated from public models.
