Headless MCP Server control via CLI

Bringing this MCP Server into your terminal lets you manage orchestration clusters entirely from the command line. You can pipe a local model into `deploy_resources` to update your engine without opening a web modeler. SREs can trigger maintenance workflows or backfill scripts by calling `start_process_instance`. The CLI agent handles the authentication and payload formatting so you stay focused on the terminal output.

Triage incidents from the shell

This toolset lets your terminal agent gather production context instantly. The CLI runs `get_topology` to check cluster health and `search_incidents` to find stalled process instances. Instead of clicking through a dashboard, you ask the CLI to pull the specific error using `get_incident` and inspect the payload via `get_variable`. You get the exact stack trace and variable state printed straight to stdout.

Script worker interactions

This server allows the CLI to script and simulate external task workers. The terminal agent calls `activate_jobs` to lock pending tasks for a specific topic. If a job needs to be rejected during a test run, the CLI can execute `fail_job` or `throw_job_error` to trigger the engine's retry logic. This makes end-to-end worker testing trivial inside CI/CD pipelines.

Setup guide

Set up Camunda (BPMN Engine) MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Run the add command

Open your terminal and run the command shown on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. Use --scope user to make it available across all projects.

  2. 2

    Verify the connection

Start a Claude Code session and type /mcp to list connected servers. You should see camunda-bpmn-engine-mcp with a green status indicator.

  3. 3

    Start using tools

Ask Claude Code something like "Check my latest Camunda (BPMN Engine) transactions." It will automatically discover and invoke the available Camunda (BPMN Engine) tools.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http camunda-bpmn-engine-mcp https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp

Common questions about Camunda (BPMN Engine) MCP in Claude Code

Run `claude mcp add --transport http camunda-bpmn -- `. Make sure to place the transport flag before the server name.
Yes. You can wrap the terminal commands in shell scripts or GitHub Actions. The agent will read your repository files and push the updated models to the cluster.
The server includes tenant management tools. Your terminal agent can filter process instances, incidents, and tasks by specific tenant IDs.
Ask the CLI to fetch the definition. It grabs the raw XML string from the cluster and prints it directly to your terminal.
We never store your orchestration data. The V8 sandbox processes your job payloads, variable values, and incident traces in RAM and completely purges them the moment the CLI command terminates.
