How to Use the Carbonara MCP in Cline
Give Cline the ability to generate styled code screenshots. This MCP Server turns raw text into beautiful PNGs right inside VS Code.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client

Visual Documentation via Cline
Writing documentation usually means stopping your workflow to take manual screenshots. Now your MCP client does it for you. You ask for a feature summary, and the tool builds the visual assets alongside the text. The `cook_code_image` tool takes the exact block of code your agent just wrote and styles it. It applies syntax highlighting and window controls before returning the image data.
Write Base64 Directly to Disk
VS Code agents excel at file manipulation. When this MCP server returns a base64 string, your client knows exactly how to decode it and save it as a valid PNG file in your workspace. Tell your agent to build a new component and create a visual preview for the pull request. It writes the React code, calls the image generator, and commits the resulting graphic into your assets folder.
Programmable Snippet Styling
Nobody wants identical graphics for every project. The generation tool accepts parameters for different themes and layout preferences. You just describe how you want the output to look. Instruct your agent to use a dark background with macOS window buttons, and it formats the request perfectly.
