How to Use the Casdoor (IAM) MCP in CrewAI
Deploy autonomous CrewAI teams to monitor, audit, and provision Casdoor (IAM) accounts without human intervention.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Casdoor (IAM) MCP to CrewAI
Create your Vinkius account to connect Casdoor (IAM) to CrewAI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Audit permissions with CrewAI teams
The `list_users` and `list_applications` tools give your researcher agent full visibility into your authentication structure. This agent continuously scans your organizations and builds a memory bank of current access levels. It passes this context to an analyzer agent for evaluation through the MCP connection. You assign specific roles to handle different parts of the identity lifecycle. The analyzer spots a stale account and alerts the moderator agent. The moderator then executes the `delete_user` command to revoke access immediately.
Autonomous account provisioning
Calling the `add_user` tool allows your provisioning agent to create accounts based on external triggers. You define a task where the agent reads a new employee ticket and extracts the requested organization and username. The agent executes the creation command via the MCP Server. The system verifies the work automatically. A secondary verification agent runs `get_user` to confirm the new ID exists in the system. The crew coordinates these sequential steps without needing manual oversight.
Restructure organizational hierarchies
Firing the `update_user` tool modifies existing records across your tenants. The agent formats the target ID as organization/username and pushes the requested changes. You use this to handle bulk department transfers or title updates. You control exactly which agent can modify data. By using MCPServerHTTP and a tool filter, you restrict write operations to a specific moderator agent. The rest of the crew only gets read access through `get_organization` and `get_userinfo`.
Set up Casdoor (IAM) MCP in CrewAI
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewaipackage (pip install crewai) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install CrewAI
Run
pip install crewaito install the framework. MCP support is built-in via themcpsparameter. - 2
Add the MCP URL to your agent
Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the
mcpslist. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically. - 3
Kick off your crew
Create a
Crewwith your agent and tasks. Callcrew.kickoff()— the agent will automatically invoke Casdoor (IAM) tools as needed.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
agent = Agent(
role="Casdoor (IAM) Analyst",
goal="Access and analyze Casdoor (IAM) data via MCP.",
backstory="Expert analyst with direct Casdoor (IAM) access.",
mcps=[
"https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
],
)
task = Task(
description="List recent Casdoor (IAM) transactions",
agent=agent,
expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)
crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result) Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewai+crewai-toolspackages - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install dependencies
Run
pip install crewai crewai-tools. TheMCPServerAdapterhandles lifecycle management and tool conversion. - 2
Connect with MCPServerAdapter
Use
MCPServerAdapteras a context manager withSseServerParameterspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. The adapter automatically manages connection lifecycle. - 3
Assign tools and run
Pass the returned
mcp_toolsto your agent'stoolsparameter. The adapter converts MCP tools to nativeBaseToolobjects compatible with all CrewAI agents.
