Connect Celoscan (Celo Network Explorer) MCP to VS Code Copilot
Create your Vinkius account to connect Celoscan (Celo Network Explorer) to VS Code Copilot and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Deploy the Celo MCP Server
This MCP Server brings decentralized network data directly into the editor your whole team already uses. You commit one configuration file, and suddenly every developer has access to live Celo metrics. When a teammate asks Copilot about a specific wallet, it runs `get_account_balance` or `get_account_balance_multi`. They get immediate, accurate token amounts without needing to distribute API keys or write custom fetch scripts.
Monitor block mechanics
Building infrastructure on Celo requires deep visibility into block generation and validator rewards. Copilot pulls this low-level network data straight into your chat panel. Your AI agent uses `get_mined_blocks` to see exactly which addresses are producing blocks. It checks `get_block_reward` to calculate validator payouts, and runs `get_block_countdown` to estimate exactly when a future block will hit the chain.
Diagnose on-chain failures
Troubleshooting a failed smart contract interaction usually wastes hours of engineering time. Copilot cuts this down by pulling the exact execution trace directly into VS Code. The AI fires off `get_transaction_receipt_status` to see if the transaction actually landed on-chain. If things look wrong, it digs deeper with `get_internal_transactions` to expose every hidden contract-to-contract call that occurred during execution.

Open MCP configuration
Open the Command Palette (
Cmd+Shift+P/Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create.vscode/mcp.jsonin your workspace. - 2
Add the Celoscan (Celo Network Explorer) MCP
Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your
.vscode/mcp.json. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Switch to Agent mode
Open Copilot Chat (
Cmd+Shift+I/Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes. - 4
Verify the connection
In the Copilot Chat input, type
#to list available tools. You should see the Celoscan (Celo Network Explorer) tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Celoscan (Celo Network Explorer) transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
