How to Use the CoinGecko MCP in Cursor
Inject live crypto data into your code using the CoinGecko MCP Server in Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect CoinGecko MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect CoinGecko to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Get live market data inside Cursor
Run `get_price` or `get_markets` while you code to pull real numbers into your logic. Stop using hardcoded mock data for your crypto apps. Your agent grabs fresh stats from the CoinGecko API as you write the implementation. It saves you from switching tabs to check docs.
Explore crypto data structures
Call `list_categories` to see how assets are grouped before you build your UI. You get the exact schema definitions back in your chat pane. Use `get_coin_details` to verify the metadata for any token you are currently integrating. It keeps your code aligned with the actual market data.
Search assets from your editor
Use `search_crypto` to find ID strings or exchange tickers without leaving Cursor. It maps the CoinGecko database directly to your current project scope. This workflow keeps your focus on building. You stay in the flow because the data you need for your features is one command away.
