Manage Cronitor at Enterprise Scale

This isn't for one-off changes. Your Gemini agent can now manage your Cronitor environment in batches. Use `update_monitors` to create or modify dozens of monitors from a single instruction, perfect for syncing with a Terraform apply or a new service deployment. Your agent can also perform `bulk_issues` actions to close out resolved incidents after a fix is pushed. For organizing, it can `pause_group` to quiet an entire set of monitors during a migration. You give your agent commands that match the scale of your infrastructure.

Automate Your Public Status Page

Let your agent run your status page. When an incident is detected through Cronitor, your agent can `create_status_page_component` to add a new entry. It can then `update_status_page_component` as the situation evolves, keeping your users informed without any manual intervention. This works for the full lifecycle. Your agent can `create_status_page` from scratch or `delete_status_page` when a product is retired. It’s perfect for agents that already manage service lifecycles within your Google Cloud environment.

Feed Cronitor Data into Google Cloud

A Gemini agent's long context is perfect for analysis. Have it `list_monitors` and `get_metrics` for your entire account, then tell it to summarize the results. The agent can format this data for direct ingestion into a BigQuery table. It can also pull raw ping data or get historical trends with `get_aggregates`. This MCP Server turns your agent into a data pipeline, moving monitoring insights from Cronitor into your Google Cloud analytics stack where you can really dig in.

Setup guide

Set up Cronitor (Cron Monitoring) MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Cronitor (Cron Monitoring) tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Cronitor (Cron Monitoring)_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Cronitor (Cron Monitoring) tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Cronitor (Cron Monitoring) MCP in Google ADK

Use the `McpToolset` with your Vinkius server URL. Your Gemini agent can then call `list_monitors` and `get_metrics` to gather the data. You can instruct it to format the output as a CSV for easy import into BigQuery.
Absolutely. Once your agent detects a failing monitor via `list_issues`, you can have it automatically call `create_status_page_component` and `update_status_page_component` to reflect the incident publicly. This closes the loop between detection and communication.
Yes, it fully supports Cronitor environments. Your agent can use `create_environment`, `list_environments`, and `update_environment` to manage separate configs for staging, production, or different regions within your Google Cloud setup.
The `McpToolset` in the Google ADK has a `tool_names` filter. You can give it a list of read-only tools like `list_monitors` and `get_metrics`. The agent won't even know the write tools exist.
The server interacts only with your Cronitor monitoring rules, performance metrics, and incident history. Each request is processed in a dedicated, zero-trust sandbox on Vinkius. Your secrets are stored by Vinkius and are never visible to the agent or Google's models.
