How to Use the Descript MCP in Cline
Let Cline manage your Descript media, run transcriptions, and trigger project exports directly from your VS Code workspace.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Descript MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Descript to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Full-task transcription automation in Cline
Cline runs `create_transcription` to upload your media and polls the job until the text is ready. It bypasses the editor GUI entirely so you can focus on your code. Once finished, the agent writes the output straight into your project files. It handles the API handshake and file writing in one continuous run.
Export Descript projects from the VS Code sidebar
Let Cline initiate your render jobs by calling `create_export` directly. It checks the rendering status with `list_exports` so you don't have to keep checking the web dashboard. You get a notification in your sidebar the moment the export completes. This lets you stay focused on writing code while your video renders in the background.
Map your media workspace using this MCP Server
Cline inventories your entire video library by running `list_drives` and `list_projects` to find your media assets. It reads details via `get_project` and matches them against layouts found with `list_templates` to organize your production assets.
