Build document templates from Claude Desktop

You can build fresh DocuSeal templates directly inside your Claude Desktop chat. Your agent uses `create_template` to turn HTML strings into reusable signing forms without you opening a browser. If a DocuSeal template needs a quick change, your Claude Desktop agent calls `update_template` or fetches details using `get_template` to verify the structure before sending. This runs locally via stdio or remotely on the web client with your MCP setup.

Send and track signature requests instantly

Don't copy email addresses manually into DocuSeal. Your Claude Desktop agent triggers `create_submission` to dispatch signing requests to clients right from the conversation. You can watch the signing progress live in your chat window. The Claude agent checks status using `get_submission` or lists active requests with `list_submissions` to tell you who signed your DocuSeal forms.

Fetch signed PDFs directly into your chat

When a client finishes signing a DocuSeal contract, you don't have to log into a dashboard to find the file. Your Claude Desktop agent pulls download links using `get_submission_documents` directly into the stream. If a signer makes a mistake on a form, your Claude agent runs `update_submitter` to fix their details on the fly. This DocuSeal MCP Server handles the annoying document work while you stay focused on the chat.

Common questions about DocuSeal MCP in Claude Desktop

Open your local configuration file and add the server to the mcpServers block with your DocuSeal API key. Restart the app, and you will see the tools available via the hammer icon in your chat box.
Yes, you can connect it by adding a custom connector in the settings of claude.ai. Paste the remote MCP server URL, authenticate, and your browser-based agent will have immediate access to the template tools.
Your agent runs `update_template` or `get_template` directly through the connection. You just tell the chat what to change, and the agent modifies the HTML template structure behind the scenes.
You ask your agent to cancel it, and it invokes `delete_submission` to void the request. This immediately stops the recipient from signing and cleans up your active dashboard.
Your document files, HTML templates, and signer emails stay on DocuSeal's servers. The local connection only passes the raw metadata and API commands required to execute tools like `get_submission_documents` without exposing your files to third parties.
