How to Use the DVC MCP in Windsurf
Use the DVC MCP Server to track model lineage and experiment history directly inside your Windsurf workspace.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect DVC MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect DVC to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Manage ML projects in Windsurf
Cascade needs to know your state. Use `list_projects` to see what is currently active, then call `get_project` to pull the metadata needed for your next task. This keeps your context window clean. Instead of guessing your directory structure, Cascade queries the server to find exactly where your artifacts live.
Audit experiment history
Stop digging through terminal logs. Use `list_experiments` to fetch the full history of your model runs without leaving Windsurf. Once you find a run, `get_user` provides the necessary context on who triggered it. This creates a clear trail for every iteration in your pipeline.
View data states
Data views often change. Use `list_views` to see all available snapshots, then call `get_view` to inspect the specific data your model is currently seeing. This confirms your input data matches your training configuration. Cascade uses these tools to verify results before you commit any changes to the codebase.
