How to Use the Elasticsearch Vector MCP in Cursor
Generate working code using live vector search results from your Elasticsearch cluster inside Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Elasticsearch Vector MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Elasticsearch Vector to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Pull live vector context into Cursor Composer
The `search` tool executes real-time kNN queries against your Elasticsearch cluster directly from your active editing session. Instead of mocking search payloads, Cursor uses actual vector scores to build and test your retrieval logic. This live feedback loop means you write integration tests that run against real data. Your agent inspects the returned document schemas to write precise parser functions on the spot.
Map and inspect indexes using Cursor MCP Server
The `get_index` tool retrieves mapping structures from your cluster to help you write exact TypeScript interfaces. Cursor reads the dense vector dimension limits and auto-completes your data models. Creating new test environments takes seconds with the `create_index` tool. You do not need to leave your code editor to run curl scripts or configure database mappings manually.
Manage vector records during active coding
The `index_document` tool pushes new vector payloads into your cluster directly from your terminal or chat window. This lets you populate your local development index with sample embeddings while debugging. Removing bad test data is handled by the `delete_document` tool. Your agent runs this command to prune corrupted embeddings, keeping your search evaluations clean.
