How to Use the EOSDA MCP in Cursor
Build automated agricultural applications in Cursor using this EOSDA MCP Server for live satellite indices and soil data.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect EOSDA MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect EOSDA to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Write agricultural code in Cursor with live data
`get_ndvi_timeseries` pulls real-time EOSDA crop health metrics directly into your Cursor editor. You write and test agricultural algorithms in Cursor using live satellite data instead of relying on static mock JSON files. This MCP Server allows your Cursor agent to query `get_fields` and write custom EOSDA data pipelines on the fly. It writes clean, typed code in Cursor that processes actual field boundaries and crop types.
Calculate vegetation indices directly in code
`get_vegetation_index` calculates 17 different agricultural indices from EOSDA including NDRE, MSAVI, and green NDVI inside Cursor. Your Cursor editor uses these statistics to build custom alerts for crop stress or chlorophyll drops. By calling `get_evi_timeseries` and `get_ndmi_timeseries` in Cursor, your agent tracks canopy growth and water stress over time. It generates accurate charts in Cursor based on raw EOSDA satellite overpass dates.
Automate field zoning and mapping scripts
`get_zoning_map` divides your EOSDA fields into precise productivity zones for variable-rate fertilizer applications inside Cursor. Cursor writes scripts that parse these zone boundaries and average index values to automate tractor guidance systems. Using `render_index_map` in Cursor generates color-coded JPEG or GeoTIFF overlays of your active acreage. You can build automated EOSDA reporting features in Cursor that export these maps directly to your project workspace.
Set up EOSDA MCP in Cursor
Prerequisites
- Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
- Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Open MCP Settings
Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (
Cmd+Shift+P/Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server". - 2
Add the EOSDA MCP
Cursor will create or open
.cursor/mcp.jsonin your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Enable Agent mode
Open Composer (
Cmd+I/Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode. - 4
Verify the connection
Ask Cursor something like "List my recent EOSDA transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the EOSDA tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.
