Direct map control in Google ADK

Initialize your agent with `McpToolset` to start interacting with your maps. You can trigger `create_map` to establish new project spaces directly from your existing Google Cloud workflows. This setup allows your agent to bridge the gap between your data pipelines and live map visualizations. It removes the need for manual map management.

Layer management for Google ADK users

Upload complex datasets by calling `create_layer` with your specific file formats. Your agent handles the integration, ensuring your data appears correctly on the map. Use `update_layer` to modify existing styles as your data evolves. This keeps your visual representations in sync with your underlying datasets.

Granular element manipulation

Add specific coordinates using `add_elements` to mark points of interest in real-time. Your agent can place these markers based on logic derived from your BigQuery outputs. If you need to remove or refresh data, `delete_element` handles the pruning. This keeps your maps lean and relevant for your team.

Setup guide

Set up Felt (Collaborative Maps) MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Felt (Collaborative Maps) tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Felt (Collaborative Maps)_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Felt (Collaborative Maps) tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Felt (Collaborative Maps) MCP in Google ADK

You define an `McpToolset` pointing to your server URL. Then, pass that toolset into your `LlmAgent` to grant it access to all mapping capabilities.
It does. Your agent uses `update_element` to push changes to the map as soon as your logic processes new information.
You can use the tool_names filter in your `McpToolset` configuration. This restricts the agent to only the specific tools you want it to use.
All traffic is mediated through the Vinkius sandbox. Your API token authenticates every request, ensuring only your agent can access your map data.
Yes. The server only accesses the map IDs and layers you explicitly pass to the tools. It does not store your private data locally.
