How to Use the Flagsmith MCP in Windsurf
Control feature flags directly from Windsurf. Cascade chains flag updates and identity checks to keep your production code in sync.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Flagsmith MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Flagsmith to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automate flag updates in Windsurf
Cascade triggers `update_flag_v2` to push configuration changes without leaving your editor. You define the feature state and let the agent handle the batch request to your environment. It handles the logic so you don't have to wait for dashboard deployments. The MCP server processes the change immediately, reflecting the new state across your microservices.
Test user identities with Windsurf
Use `identify_user` to simulate specific user traits during development. This allows you to verify how individual flag buckets behave before you commit code. Cascade then executes `get_identity_flags` to validate the specific experience for that user. It provides instant feedback on whether your targeting rules are firing as intended.
Sync environment state in Windsurf
The `get_environment_document` tool pulls your entire setup into the Windsurf context. You get a raw view of your current configuration to troubleshoot flag debt or verify segment overrides. This data helps Cascade understand the current environment footprint. You avoid guessing which flags are active when debugging production issues.
