Manage Freshdesk tickets in VS Code Copilot

Keep your engineering team aligned with the latest support issues. Use `list_tickets` to show the team what needs attention and `get_ticket_details` to verify the urgency of incoming reports. Sharing the same MCP config means everyone sees the same ticket data. It prevents duplicate work and keeps your team focused on the right bugs.

Update ticket status without leaving VS Code Copilot

Once a fix is committed, use `update_ticket` to move the ticket status forward. Your support team sees the progress immediately. It removes the friction of manual status updates. The agent handles the API calls so you can keep coding.

Get full ticket history via VS Code Copilot

Use `list_ticket_thread` to see the full customer conversation. It helps your team understand the root cause of an issue before they even start writing code. Having the history in your editor makes for better communication. You get the context you need to build the right solution.

Setup guide

Set up Freshdesk MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Freshdesk MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Freshdesk tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Freshdesk transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
