Query GetYourGuide destinations inside VS Code

The `list_travel_destinations` tool provides your development team with direct access to supported GetYourGuide cities right inside VS Code Copilot. Every engineer on the team can query the same endpoint to verify GetYourGuide destination IDs while writing code in VS Code. By integrating `search_by_destination` and `search_travel_activities` in VS Code Copilot, your team can build search features using shared configurations. VS Code Copilot uses these tools to suggest accurate GetYourGuide API queries based on real catalog data.

Build cart workflows with this VS Code MCP Server

The `list_active_carts` tool allows your team to inspect running GetYourGuide shopping carts directly from VS Code Copilot. Developers can verify GetYourGuide cart states in VS Code without needing to write custom debugging scripts or curl commands. Using `get_cart_details` in VS Code Copilot, the agent helps your team map out the data structures required for GetYourGuide checkout pages. This ensures that every developer is working with the same GetYourGuide schema in VS Code, preventing integration drift across branches.

Implement booking management in VS Code Copilot

The `create_travel_booking` tool enables your team to write and test GetYourGuide reservation logic directly from VS Code Copilot. The VS Code Copilot agent assists in coding the reservation flow, using real GetYourGuide responses to verify your database schemas. With `get_booking_status` and `cancel_travel_booking` in VS Code Copilot, developers can quickly prototype cancellation and refund policies. VS Code Copilot generates the backend controllers and tests by calling these GetYourGuide endpoints to see how they behave.

Setup guide

Set up GetYourGuide MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the GetYourGuide MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the GetYourGuide tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent GetYourGuide transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
