Automate Slack notifications with Claude Code
This GIPHY MCP Server allows Claude Code to fetch dynamic status images directly from your terminal. Scripting terminal alerts doesn't have to be boring or text-only. Claude Code queries `translate_to_gif` with strings like 'build failed' or 'success' to get the perfect visual status indicator. The CLI agent pipes these URLs directly into curl commands or webhook scripts. Grabbing a fallback using `random_gif` keeps your deployment channels lively. Your terminal scripts become instantly more expressive without any heavy dependencies.
Generate dynamic markdown assets from the CLI
The `trending_gifs` tool automates the retrieval of viral media for your markdown files and documentation. Keep your GitHub README files or release notes updated with trending cultural references. Claude Code runs headless scripts that call the trending endpoints to grab the top-rated reaction images of the day. You can automate this in your CI/CD pipelines. Formatting raw JSON output into clean terminal tables is easy when the agent uses `trending_searches` to document what terms are currently driving traffic.
Query GIPHY assets directly from your shell
The `search_gifs` tool lets you query the entire GIPHY database directly from your shell. Avoid opening a browser just to find a quick asset link. This GIPHY MCP Server lets you search the entire database using simple CLI prompts. You can easily grab a specific asset using `get_gif_by_id` if you already know the target. Your terminal agent formats the output so you can pipe it directly to your clipboard or other terminal utilities.
