Long-context memory ingestion

`list_notes` retrieves the full text of your workspace notes to build massive context windows for Gemini. Because the model supports up to a million tokens, you can pull entire folders of documentation in a single step. This lets the agent analyze historical project decisions without hitting token limits. If the agent uncovers a pattern or finishes a task, it uses `create_note` to write the summary back to GitScrum. You can organize these summaries into folders using `create_note_folder` to keep your workspace structured.

Connecting an MCP Server to Google Cloud data

`global_search` acts as the bridge between your enterprise data in BigQuery and your GitScrum workspace. Your Google ADK agent can search wiki pages, notes, and channels, then cross-reference those files with your database tables. This merges live project documentation with structured business intelligence. When your agent needs to update the team on its findings, `send_message` posts updates directly to your discussion channels. This keeps human developers in the loop without leaving the Google Cloud console.

Wiki management for enterprise pipelines

`create_wiki_page` allows your automated pipelines to generate and publish documentation as code. This MCP integration ensures your documentation stays in sync with your actual codebase when running automated builds. If a build fails or writes bad data, `restore_wiki_revision` rolls back the wiki page to the last known good state. You can track these changes over time using `wiki_revisions` to maintain a clear audit trail.

Setup guide

Set up GitScrum Knowledge MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with GitScrum Knowledge tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="GitScrum Knowledge_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to GitScrum Knowledge tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about GitScrum Knowledge MCP in Google ADK

Instantiate `McpToolset` with the Vinkius HTTP URL, then pass it to your `LlmAgent` tools array. The ADK handles the MCP handshake and exposes the 28 available tools to Gemini.
Yes, you can pass a list of allowed tool names to your toolset configuration to restrict access. For example, you can expose only `search_wiki` and `list_notes` while blocking write tools like `delete_note`.
No, this MCP Server runs on Vinkius serverless infrastructure. Your Google ADK agent connects via standard HTTP transport, so you don't need to manage background processes or open inbound ports.
The `global_search` tool handles high-volume queries by returning structured, grouped results. This allows the model to process large batches of documentation in a single reasoning step.
Your notes, wiki pages, and channel messages are transmitted securely via TLS directly to the GitScrum API. Vinkius runs the server in an isolated, zero-trust sandbox that never caches or stores your raw workspace data.
