Enterprise data simulation with Gemini

The GoRest MCP Server connects Google ADK agents to 23 endpoints for managing users, posts, and todos. By exposing tools like `list_users` and `list_posts` to Gemini, you can feed massive mock datasets directly into the model's million-token context window. This lets the agent analyze complex relational patterns across hundreds of simulated records at once. You can cross-reference this simulated data with your production datasets in BigQuery. The agent can fetch user profiles from GoRest, compare them to your cloud schemas, and generate migration scripts without writing boilerplate integration code.

Google ADK tool filtering for targeted testing

The GoRest MCP Server lets you restrict which endpoints your agent can access during automated runs. Using the `tool_names` filter in the Google ADK setup, you can expose only `get_user` and `list_user_todos` while blocking destructive tools like `delete_user`. This keeps your testing environments safe from accidental agent modifications. This configuration happens entirely in Python during agent initialization. The agent only discovers the tools you explicitly allow, minimizing the risk of model confusion during complex reasoning tasks.

Automated post and comment generation

The GoRest MCP Server provides tools like `create_user_post` and `create_post_comment` to automate content generation tests. Your Gemini agent can write realistic blog posts, link them to specific simulated users, and generate conversational comment threads. This is ideal for stress-testing content moderation pipelines before deploying them to production. The agent coordinates these actions using standard HTTP transport. You don't have to manage the underlying REST calls; the ADK translates the agent's decisions into structured API requests.

Setup guide

Set up GoRest MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with GoRest tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="GoRest_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to GoRest tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about GoRest MCP in Google ADK

You use the `tool_names` filter parameter when initializing your `McpToolset`. This allows you to expose only specific tools like `list_users` while hiding write operations.
Yes, you can build an agent that queries BigQuery and uses the GoRest tools like `create_user` to sync mock profiles. The ADK orchestrates both data sources within a single runtime.
The ADK expects the GoRest bearer token to be passed via environment variables or secret managers during setup. Vinkius handles the actual transport security so your credentials are never exposed to the LLM.
It uses the Streamable HTTP transport protocol. This allows your Google Cloud hosted agents to communicate with the server without maintaining persistent SSH or Stdio connections.
Yes, all GoRest payloads, including user emails and post contents, flow directly through an encrypted, zero-trust connection. Vinkius operates ephemeral containers that process the tools in memory and write nothing to disk.
