Headless routing automation

Run `calculate_heavy_route` directly from your shell to generate truck-specific navigation. This fits perfectly into your existing bash scripts or CI/CD pipelines for automated logistics. It outputs raw data that you can pipe into other CLI tools. There is no GUI overhead, just the routing metrics you need for your backend services.

Batch VRP processing

Submit large-scale optimization jobs using `submit_vrp_optimizer` without leaving your terminal. The tool handles the job dispatch while you monitor the status via `poll_vrp_solution`. It is designed for high-throughput environments where you need to calculate routes for hundreds of vehicles simultaneously. You get the exact solution data needed for your fleet management backend.

System-wide geocoding

Use `reverse_geocode` to process coordinate logs from your server files. Claude Code reads your logs, performs the lookup, and formats the addresses for your database. It keeps your geocoding logic centralized in your code base. You can trigger these updates as part of your deployment process to keep map data fresh.

Setup guide

Set up GraphHopper MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

Common questions about GraphHopper MCP in Claude Code

Use the command line to add the server with the `claude mcp add` command. Ensure you specify the correct transport and URL flags.
Yes, it is designed for headless use. You can script the tool calls to run routing matrix calculations as part of your nightly data processing.
You need to define the transport type, usually HTTP, before the server name. Check the help documentation for the full list of supported flags.
Run `claude mcp list` to check the server status. You can then trigger a test call to one of the endpoints to verify it is returning data.
The server operates within your secure environment. It only touches the coordinate logs you explicitly pass to it, and all traffic is encrypted over the transport layer.
