Trigger crawls on demand from Claude Desktop

Stop leaving your chat to manually start a scraping run. This MCP Server lets Claude Desktop kick off web scraping jobs instantly using `run_report` right when you ask for fresh data. Your Claude Desktop agent checks your active scraping setups with `list_reports` and starts the crawl. You get real-time status updates in your sidebar without checking the Grepsr dashboard.

Fetch clean datasets straight to your chat

Once a run finishes, your agent uses `get_latest_data` to pull the scraped records directly into Claude Desktop. You can immediately ask Claude to format, analyze, or clean the raw data it just pulled. If you need to dig into specific runs, Claude Desktop uses `get_report_data` to extract exact historical chunks from your Grepsr account. This keeps your local Claude Desktop pipelines fed with clean Grepsr datasets without manual CSV downloads.

Manage data pipelines via Claude Desktop

Control where your scraped data goes by letting Claude Desktop read your destination settings. Claude Desktop uses `list_integrations` to verify where Grepsr is sending your files, like S3 or SFTP. You can also track your Grepsr scraping limits directly inside Claude Desktop. Claude Desktop runs `get_usage_stats` to verify your remaining API credits before starting a massive crawl.

Common questions about Grepsr MCP in Claude Desktop

Open your `claude_desktop_config.json` file and add the configuration under the `mcpServers` key. Once configured via MCP, the hammer icon in the chat input will show the new scraping tools.
Yes, when you ask the agent for fresh web data, it uses `run_report` to start the crawl. It will poll the status and fetch the results when done.
The agent uses `get_report_data` to pull manageable batches of scraped records. This prevents your chat window from lagging while processing large web extractions.
You can. The agent uses `create_webhook` and `list_webhooks` to set up real-time notifications for completed scraper runs directly from your chat.
Your Grepsr API keys, scraped datasets, and report histories stay encrypted in your local Claude Desktop config file and never pass through third-party servers. The MCP Server only uses it locally to authenticate requests to Grepsr's scraping endpoints.
