Trigger Conversions from Cloud Storage

This setup connects your cloud infrastructure directly to your content creation. When a new marketing PDF lands in a Google Cloud Storage bucket, a trigger can invoke your Gemini agent. That agent then uses `convert_pdf_to_flipbook` to turn it into a live Heyzine asset. Your agent gets the new flipbook URL and ID back instantly. From there, it can log the new asset in a BigQuery table or kick off another process. It’s a closed-loop system that starts the moment a file is uploaded.

Manage Content with Google ADK Agents

Your agent isn't just a converter; it's a content manager. It can run `list_all_flipbooks` to get an inventory, then decide which ones need updates or archiving. Based on analytics from your own database, it can use `update_flipbook_design` to apply a new theme or add a banner. The Gemini model's large context window means your agent can reason over a lot of data—like user feedback from a Google Form—to decide what changes to make. This isn't just blind automation; it's data-driven content management.

Organize and Report on Bookshelves

Use agents to keep your Heyzine bookshelves organized. An agent can query BigQuery for a list of new product guides, then find those documents in Heyzine and use `add_flipbook_to_bookshelf` to add them to the 'Latest Guides' collection. You can also build reporting agents. Have an agent periodically run `get_bookshelf_details` and `list_bookshelf_flipbooks` for your main collections, then write a summary report to a Google Doc. This MCP server gives your Google agents the access they need.

Setup guide

Set up Heyzine MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Heyzine tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Heyzine_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Heyzine tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Heyzine MCP in Google ADK

You'll instantiate an `McpToolset` in your Python code, passing it the Vinkius server URL. Then you include that toolset in the `tools` list when you create your `LlmAgent`. The ADK handles the connection and tool registration from there.
Yes. You can pass a flipbook ID to your agent. It can then use that ID with tools like `get_flipbook_details`, `update_flipbook_design`, or `delete_flipbook` to perform specific actions on that single document.
Definitely. When you set up the `McpToolset`, you can provide an optional `tool_names` filter. This lets you expose only a subset of the Heyzine tools, like allowing conversion but blocking deletion.
Set up a Cloud Function that triggers on a new file in a GCS bucket. That function can then invoke your Gemini agent, providing the file's URL. The agent's first step would be to call `convert_pdf_to_flipbook`.
The server only touches the data required for the job, like the PDF content during conversion. Your connection is secured by your Vinkius token, and all operations run in an ephemeral, zero-trust sandbox. On the Google side, you control the agent's permissions using standard Google Cloud IAM roles.
