How to Use the Hipsy MCP in CrewAI
Deploy autonomous agent crews to monitor sales, manage attendees, and report on revenue for your Hipsy events with CrewAI.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Hipsy MCP to CrewAI
Create your Vinkius account to connect Hipsy to CrewAI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build an autonomous event monitoring crew
Assign a 'Scout Agent' the job of constantly checking for new events using `list_upcoming_events`. When it finds one, it passes the event ID to a 'Finance Agent'. This is the core of how CrewAI works—specialized agents collaborating. The Finance Agent then uses `get_event_revenue` and `get_scan_stats` to track performance. If revenue drops below a certain threshold, it alerts a 'Marketing Agent' to investigate, which might use `list_ticket_types` to check pricing. The whole process runs without you lifting a finger.
Automate fraud and scalping detection
You can create a 'Security Agent' whose only job is to analyze ticket sales patterns. It uses `list_orders_by_event` to get a stream of new orders. It then uses `get_order` to inspect details of any suspicious purchases. If it finds multiple orders from the same IP address or other red flags, it adds the order ID to a shared context. A separate 'Moderator Agent' picks up that ID and can be tasked with flagging the order for human review, all within your CrewAI setup.
Delegate reporting tasks to your CrewAI team
Stop manually pulling numbers. Set up a 'Reporting Agent' with a simple goal: 'Generate a weekly revenue report for all past events.' This agent will use `list_past_events` to get the list, then loop through each one calling `get_event_revenue`. This MCP Server provides all the tools needed for comprehensive reporting. Your crew can assemble data from `list_attendees`, `list_scans`, and `list_orders` to build a complete picture of event performance. The final report is assembled and delivered automatically by the crew.
Set up Hipsy MCP in CrewAI
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewaipackage (pip install crewai) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install CrewAI
Run
pip install crewaito install the framework. MCP support is built-in via themcpsparameter. - 2
Add the MCP URL to your agent
Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the
mcpslist. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically. - 3
Kick off your crew
Create a
Crewwith your agent and tasks. Callcrew.kickoff()— the agent will automatically invoke Hipsy tools as needed.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
agent = Agent(
role="Hipsy Analyst",
goal="Access and analyze Hipsy data via MCP.",
backstory="Expert analyst with direct Hipsy access.",
mcps=[
"https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
],
)
task = Task(
description="List recent Hipsy transactions",
agent=agent,
expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)
crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result) Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewai+crewai-toolspackages - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install dependencies
Run
pip install crewai crewai-tools. TheMCPServerAdapterhandles lifecycle management and tool conversion. - 2
Connect with MCPServerAdapter
Use
MCPServerAdapteras a context manager withSseServerParameterspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. The adapter automatically manages connection lifecycle. - 3
Assign tools and run
Pass the returned
mcp_toolsto your agent'stoolsparameter. The adapter converts MCP tools to nativeBaseToolobjects compatible with all CrewAI agents.
