Build automation with live Hudu data

The `list_companies` and `get_company` tools feed real client IDs into your scripts over the MCP connection. Cursor Agent fetches the actual data structure from your Hudu instance instead of guessing the JSON schema. You stop writing mock data. When you build billing or reporting integrations, the agent pulls the live company list and writes the parsing logic based on real API responses.

Document infrastructure via Cursor MCP

The `create_company` and `create_asset` tools let your agent provision documentation while you write deployment code. You pass the asset name and company ID, and the agent registers the infrastructure in Hudu. This keeps documentation in sync with your codebase. As you define a new server configuration, Cursor pushes the corresponding asset record directly to the MSP vault.

Inject procedures into code comments

The `list_procedures` and `get_procedure` tools extract your operational runbooks. Cursor reads the steps and formats them as inline comments inside your deployment scripts. You can also pull knowledge base data using `list_articles` and `get_article`. The agent references your internal standards to ensure the code it generates matches your required IT policies.

Setup guide

Set up Hudu MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Hudu MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Hudu transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Hudu tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Hudu MCP in Cursor

Create an mcp.json file in your project root directory. Add the server command and arguments, then enable Agent mode in the chat panel.
Yes. The agent calls list_passwords and get_password to fetch credentials. You can inject these into local environment variables during development.
The create_asset tool requires both an asset name and a valid company ID. If the agent omits the ID, the Hudu API rejects the request.
You tell the agent to use list_assets with a specific company ID. This prevents it from pulling the entire global asset list into your context window.
Your agent processes get_password responses in memory during the active session. The MCP server handles the API authentication layer, keeping your primary Hudu access token out of the generated source code.
