Get model details in VS Code Copilot

Use `get_model` to pull specific repo information into your chat window. It gives your team the full context on model architecture and download counts. Everyone on the team sees the same data. It prevents version drift and ensures you are all working from the same source of truth.

List Hugging Face datasets for teams

The `list_datasets` tool helps your team find the right data for your training pipelines. You can filter by search term or author to narrow down the results. It makes dataset discovery a team-wide activity. You spend less time searching and more time building.

Review Space details in VS Code Copilot

Use `get_space` to inspect the configuration of any Hugging Face Space. It shows you the SDK type so you can match your deployment strategy. You get clear, actionable data about how a space is built. It helps your team plan deployments with actual information instead of guesses.

Setup guide

Set up Hugging Face MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Hugging Face MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Hugging Face tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Hugging Face transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
