Team-wide game data access in VS Code Copilot

Commit the configuration to your repository so every developer can query `get_entry` directly from their VS Code Copilot chat panel using this MCP integration. Your VS Code Copilot agent fetches precise metrics for monsters like the Molduga to help your team verify combat math. This integration ensures everyone on the engineering team works with identical Hyrule Compendium values inside VS Code Copilot. You eliminate discrepancies in Zelda damage calculations and item drop rates across different branches in VS Code Copilot.

Build mock data sets using this custom MCP Server

Creating test suites is simple when your VS Code Copilot agent uses `get_category` via this MCP tool to pull specific item lists from the Hyrule Compendium. You can ask VS Code Copilot to generate mock responses for the Hyrule Compendium treasure category to test your UI. The `get_category` tool returns the exact schema, allowing your VS Code Copilot agent to write highly accurate unit tests. Your team saves hours of manual data entry by automating the Zelda mock generation process inside VS Code Copilot.

Map out entire game systems from the chat panel

Designing Hylian progression systems is faster when you run the Hyrule Compendium MCP tool `get_all_entries` inside VS Code Copilot. Your VS Code Copilot agent can analyze the entire Hyrule Compendium inventory structure to help you balance crafting recipes. This tool feeds the complete Hyrule Compendium database directly to your VS Code Copilot agent. You can ask VS Code Copilot to draft Zelda balancing spreadsheets based on the actual distribution of materials and equipment.

Setup guide

Set up Hyrule Compendium MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Hyrule Compendium MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.
