Terminal-Based Fleet Dispatching

The `assign_driver` tool lets you dispatch delivery personnel directly from your command line during peak hours. Claude Code executes these assignments instantly, letting you manage logistics without opening a browser or IDE. You can pipe terminal outputs into the agent to match drivers with orders. This headless approach allows SREs and backend developers to handle fulfillment spikes using rapid shell commands.

Shell-Driven Catalog Updates via MCP Server

The `update_catalog_item` tool modifies menu pricing and item availability directly from your terminal session. Claude Code processes these updates via standard inputs, making it easy to change prices during a shift. You can script these updates to run based on stock levels. The agent handles the raw JSON payloads, ensuring your catalog stays accurate without manual data entry.

Command-Line Order Pipeline Auditing

The `get_orders` tool retrieves active orders by status directly into your terminal buffer through this MCP connection. Claude Code filters these results to show only stuck orders, helping you spot bottlenecks in the preparation queue. The agent can format this data into clean text tables or pass it to other command-line utilities. This lets you monitor restaurant throughput during peak dinner rushes without leaving your SSH session.

Common questions about iFood MCP in Claude Code

Yes. You can instruct the agent to write a shell script that calls `update_business_hours` and schedule it via crontab to adjust your operations automatically.
You can pass a CSV of driver IDs directly to the terminal agent, which will parse the file and call `assign_driver` for each matching order ID.
Yes. The terminal agent runs `get_stores` to list all registered merchant accounts, allowing you to switch contexts and query catalogs or orders for any store ID.
You configure the server in your global configuration file and call Claude Code with the non-interactive flag to execute specific tools like catalog updates.
Your store schedule data and access tokens are isolated within secure environment variables. This MCP setup isolates the connection through a single protected endpoint, keeping your merchant credentials hidden from the terminal output.
