…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Kavita (eBook/Manga) MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Kavita (eBook/Manga) to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Target individual library updates
The `scan_library` tool forces Kavita to index a specific folder without touching the rest of your files. You tell Cline you added a new manga volume, and it executes the update immediately. This MCP integration isolates the CPU load. Instead of grinding your NAS to a halt, the agent updates exactly what changed. You get your new chapters available in the UI seconds later.
Run full MCP Server syncs
The `scan_all_libraries` tool sweeps your entire Kavita installation for new content. Cline triggers this when you reorganize your folder structure or restore a backup. It takes one command. You type your request into the sidebar, and the agent fires the API call. No logging into the web dashboard required.
Maintain active API sessions
The `authenticate` tool generates the JWT token Cline needs to talk to your server. It handles the login handshake automatically. Before running a heavy sync, the agent uses `check_authkey_expires` to confirm the session is alive. If the key is close to dying, it grabs a fresh one so your scan doesn't fail halfway through.
