Headless document processing with Claude Code

Connect your terminal to your document repository to trigger workflows in scripts. Use `list_document_records` to pipe data into your CI/CD pipeline or shell scripts for automated reporting. Version control happens at the command line. You call `download_document_version` to save copies for local processing or `update_document_version_data` to push changes back to the server.

Terminal-based user administration

Manage your team access without a GUI. Claude Code executes `list_users` and `list_user_groups` to output your organizational structure directly to your terminal screen. Updating rights is a one-line command. The agent uses `remove_share_from_user` or `update_user_permissions` to adjust access levels as part of your automated onboarding or offboarding scripts.

Governance via CLI tool chains

Query your workspace info to ensure your environment is configured correctly. Running `get_info` provides the metadata needed to verify your Legito instance state before running batch operations. Clean up your records with simple commands. You can script `delete_user_group` or `delete_document_record` to maintain a lean environment during your cleanup tasks.

Common questions about Legito MCP in Claude Code

Run the `claude mcp add` command in your terminal with the required transport flags. Once added, you can call any of the 31 tools directly from your shell.
Yes. Since Claude Code is headless, you can trigger `create_document_version_data` as part of your build process to generate documents automatically.
Absolutely. You can write a shell script that uses `list_users` to loop through your team and apply updates using `add_user_to_group`.
Your data remains isolated within your Legito instance. The MCP server acts as a strictly ephemeral bridge, and no document records are cached on the CLI client.
