How to Use the LibreChat MCP in Windsurf
Connect LibreChat to Windsurf to trigger agentic workflows directly from your IDE context.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect LibreChat MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect LibreChat to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Manage agents with Windsurf
Use the `list_models` tool to pull your existing LibreChat agents directly into your Cascade context. Windsurf sees your available models without you leaving the editor. Once the models are indexed, you can reference specific agent IDs in your prompts. Cascade handles the mapping, so you just tell it what to build.
Execute completions via MCP Server
Trigger the `chat_completions` tool to feed your local codebase context into a LibreChat agent. It runs the logic and returns the output straight into your active window. You don't need to copy-paste responses. The server pipes the raw completion data back to Windsurf, letting you iterate on code blocks instantly.
Automate sessions in Windsurf
Call `login` to establish your session tokens within the MCP Server environment. This ensures your IDE has persistent access to your instance configurations. After auth is handled, the server maintains the connection. You can switch between agents or run multiple `open_responses` requests during a single coding session.
