Automate Lyft ride requests

Windsurf handles the entire booking flow without manual input. The agent uses `get_ride_types` to check available options at your coordinates before finalizing the request with `request_ride`. This keeps your workflow moving while the agent handles the API handshake. You get a confirmation of the booking status immediately after the call is placed.

Real-time Lyft cost and ETA tracking

Stop guessing arrival times and pricing. The agent runs `get_cost_estimate` and `get_eta_estimate` to pull live data into your Windsurf workspace. Compare different ride tiers instantly. You see exactly what you pay before the agent executes the booking.

Manage saved locations in Windsurf

Keep your pickup and dropoff spots synced. Use `set_location` to update your home or work addresses, and let the agent call `get_locations` to recall them later. This eliminates the need to type out addresses for every trip. Your agent knows exactly where you need to go.

Setup guide

Set up Lyft MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Lyft MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Lyft payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Lyft tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Lyft MCP in Windsurf

Yes. The agent uses `get_ride_history` to pull your past trips directly into the editor. You can review costs and routes without leaving the Windsurf window.
Vinkius manages your connection via an ephemeral V8 sandbox. Your Lyft account details are never stored on our servers, and only the agent in your Windsurf instance accesses your ride data.
Just ask your agent to use `cancel_ride`. It checks the current status of the trip and confirms the cancellation, provided the driver hasn't already arrived.
Absolutely. Use `get_ride_details` to pull the current driver info and route status. It's a quick way to monitor an active trip.
You can. Use `set_location` to define custom IDs for your frequent spots. The agent then picks them up via `get_locations` when you initiate a new request.
