Auto-commit context in Windsurf Cascade
When Cascade executes a multi-step plan, it needs to remember your preferences without stopping to ask you every five seconds. This MCP Server lets the agent run `add_memory` behind the scenes to store coding habits, file paths, or architectural choices. Instead of pasting the same setup instructions into every new chat, the agent pulls them on the fly. It writes the facts directly to your database, so the next autonomous run actually knows what you want.
Look up past decisions on the fly
Windsurf chains tools, and now it can chain memory retrieval into those runs. By calling `search_memories`, Cascade scans your historical preferences to decide which library or design pattern you prefer before writing code. The tool returns ranked results based on relevance. If you previously told the agent to avoid a specific library, it remembers that constraint without you needing to write a detailed prompt every single time.
Clean up outdated facts automatically
Projects evolve, and Cascade can manage its own context drift. The agent uses `get_memories` to pull your active profile, identifies outdated rules, and runs `delete_memory` to keep things clean. This stops the agent from getting confused by old, conflicting instructions. You get a self-cleaning developer profile that stays accurate as your codebase changes.
