How to Use the Meteostat MCP in Cursor
Inject real-world weather data into your code with Cursor and the Meteostat MCP Server.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Meteostat MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Meteostat to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Fetch live climate data in Cursor
Stop using mock weather data in your test suites. Call `point_daily` or `point_hourly` to pull actual historical records that your code can process immediately. Cursor injects these real API responses directly into your editor. You write code that works against actual weather observations, not placeholders.
Automate station lookups in Cursor
Use `stations_nearby` to find reporting stations near your target coordinates. The AI can then use `stations_meta` to verify that the station is active and reliable for your data pipeline. This process keeps your logic grounded in physical reality. You define the location, and the tool provides the exact station ID needed for further data extraction.
Generate data-driven code in Cursor
Build your climate models using `stations_normals` or `point_normals` to get accurate baseline data. The server provides the structure, and Cursor writes the implementation code for you. Your agent handles the API communication loop. You focus on the business logic while the server ensures the weather data is formatted correctly.
