Generate Miro boards from your Cursor workspace

This server uses `create_board` to turn your system design files into visual architecture maps. Cursor calls this tool to spin up a board the second you finish drafting a spec. The agent then populates the canvas by running `create_card` and `create_sticky_note` with your file contents. You get a visual representation of your codebase without manual drawing.

Sync code changes back to your canvas

The `list_board_items` tool pulls the current state of your Miro board directly into Cursor. Your agent compares the canvas widgets with your local code files to find discrepancies. If the code changed, the agent updates the board using `update_board` or adds context with `create_comment`. This keeps your documentation in lockstep with your repository.

Manage board sharing from the editor

The `add_board_member` tool lets you share your visual specs with teammates without leaving Cursor. Your agent checks who has access by running `list_board_members` first. You can confirm your active credentials using `get_user_context`. This ensures you are sharing boards from the correct developer account.

Setup guide

Set up Miro MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Miro MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Miro transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Miro tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.

Common questions about Miro MCP in Cursor

You can. Your agent reads your local files and runs `create_card` to map out classes or services on your canvas.
The agent calls `list_board_items` to pull down all cards, sticky notes, and text. It can then refactor your local code based on those visual elements.
Yes, but be careful. The `delete_board_item` tool permanently removes widgets from your Miro canvas, and this action cannot be undone.
Add the server configuration to your global or project-level `mcp.json` file. Enable Agent mode in the Cursor chat sidebar to let the editor invoke the tools.
Your API token is stored locally and used only to authorize requests to Miro. Board content, comments, and member lists are processed in memory and never stored by Vinkius.
