Terminal-driven payment runs

`modulr_create_payment` launches outgoing EUR and GBP bank transfers directly from your command line. Claude Code runs headless payout scripts, pipes the output to standard utilities, and logs execution states. You run a single terminal command to execute a transaction. The CLI agent calls `modulr_create_beneficiary` to map the recipient and runs the payment transfer, outputting raw JSON for easy shell piping.

Headless account management via MCP Server

`modulr_create_account` creates virtual UK and EU bank accounts via your shell. Claude Code handles the command-line arguments, queries `modulr_get_customers` to verify entities, and returns live IBANs. This setup fits perfectly into CI/CD pipelines or cron jobs. You can script the CLI agent to spin up new accounts for platform merchants automatically during deployments.

Command-line ledger auditing

`modulr_get_transactions` audits bank statements directly in your terminal. Claude Code filters the raw transaction logs, extracts payment references, and pipes them into local ledger files. You can query `modulr_list_payments` to check the status of massive payment arrays. The CLI agent parses the response, alerts you of any failed transfers, and saves the output to a local JSON file.

Common questions about Modulr MCP in Claude Code

Run the `claude mcp add` command in your terminal, specifying the HTTP transport and the Vinkius URL. Make sure to place all flags like `--transport` before the server name to register the seven tools in your `~/.claude.json` file.
Yes. You can pipe data from a local CSV into Claude Code, which then calls `modulr_create_beneficiary` and `modulr_create_payment` for each entry. It runs headlessly, making it ideal for automated cron jobs.
The CLI agent detects standard network timeouts or handshake failures. It automatically retries the command, reporting the exact error code to your terminal if the connection fails to establish.
No. Vinkius manages the HMAC-SHA256 keys and signs every request before it hits Modulr. Your terminal client only needs a single Vinkius connection token to authorize all tool calls.
The integration uses a zero-trust, ephemeral V8 sandbox. Your customer records and bank statements are processed in-memory and sent directly to Modulr, leaving no trace on local disk or Vinkius servers.
