Script Against Live Connection Data

Stop mocking API responses for your integration logic. With Cursor, you can ask the agent to `list_connections` from Nango and generate code that iterates over real, active OAuth connections. It's a faster way to build scripts for maintenance or reporting. If you're debugging a specific user's issue, have the agent call `get_connection` with their connection ID. The agent gets the live metadata and can write a test case or a diagnostic script using that exact data, right in your editor.

Generate Code from Synced Records

The `list_records` tool is powerful in Cursor. Ask the agent to fetch a sample of unified records for a specific integration, like Salesforce contacts. It will pull the data and then generate the correct types and parsing logic for your language. You can also use `list_syncs` to build monitoring tools. Have the agent check for failed syncs and then write a script that sends an alert or creates a ticket. The AI handles the boilerplate API calls so you can focus on the response logic.

The Nango MCP Server for Cursor

This MCP Server connects Cursor's agent to your Nango instance. Instead of just writing code, the agent can now interact with your live integration layer. It's the difference between writing blind and writing with live context. Use `list_integrations` to have the agent scaffold a new service that uses one of your Nango-managed APIs. It will know the available integrations and can use `get_integration` to understand the specific configuration details needed.

Setup guide

Set up Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

Add the Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Common questions about Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) MCP in Cursor

Ask the Cursor agent to "scaffold a typescript function to fetch records for the 'hubspot' integration using Nango." The agent will use `get_integration` and `list_records` to understand the data and generate working code with correct types.
Absolutely. Tell the agent: "Write a Python script using Nango's `list_connections` tool to find all connections that need to be refreshed." It will generate the code for you on the spot.
Yes. You can have the agent run `list_syncs` with a filter for a specific connection ID. Then, you can ask it to use `list_records` to see the last successful data and compare it against what you expect.
Create a `.cursor/mcp.json` file in your project's root directory. Add the server configuration details there, and the Nango tools will be available to the agent for that project.
The server queries your Nango instance for metadata like connection IDs, integration names, and sync job logs. It doesn't access or transmit the underlying user credentials or raw API keys, which remain managed by Nango's environment.
