Build live New York Times React widgets with Cline
The `get_top_stories` tool provides Cline with live headlines from specific news sections. Cline can grab this active feed, generate a React component, and style it to match your application's design. Because Cline is an autonomous coding agent, it doesn't stop at fetching. It installs necessary dependencies, writes the component code, imports the data from this MCP Server, and runs your local test suite to verify the UI.
Automate movie review aggregators using Cline
The `get_movie_reviews` tool allows Cline to search the entire NYTimes archive for cinematic critiques. Cline uses this tool to populate local databases or generate markdown review cards for your personal site. You simply tell Cline to update your movie database. It queries the MCP Server, parses the review text, creates the markdown files in your workspace, and stages the git commit.
Generate trending data visualizations with Cline
The `get_most_emailed` tool lets Cline fetch the most popular articles over a 1, 7, or 30-day period. Cline reads these popularity metrics to build dynamic data visualizations directly inside your project files. By exposing this MCP Server to Cline, you can request a trending chart, and the agent will fetch the data, write a D3.js script, and launch a local preview to show you the result.
