Key Capabilities

Agent Debate on Communication Strategy

Use the `send_sms` tool as a starting point for debate. One agent might argue, 'We should use WhatsApp because it's richer,' while another argues, 'No, we must prioritize reliability and use SMS.' The MCP Server provides the concrete tools that the agents negotiate over, forcing them to converge on the most effective messaging channel.

Multi-Agent Tool Orchestration

The AutoGen framework lets you set up multiple roles. A 'Security Agent' can use `list_sender_ids` to check credentials, while a 'Finance Agent' uses `check_balance`. They debate which sender ID is appropriate for the message. This consensus-driven approach ensures that every communication step is vetted by competing perspectives.

Automated Messaging Failover

You can design agents to handle failure. If an agent attempts `send_whatsapp` and it fails, a 'Fallback Agent' steps in, reviews the error, and autonomously calls `send_sms` instead. The MCP Server provides the distinct tools needed for this failover logic, making communication robust even when channels break.

Setup guide

Set up Termii MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Termii tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Termii_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Termii data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Termii MCP in AutoGen

The `termii-mcp` server provides the objective tools—like sending messages or checking balances—that the agents must discuss. They argue over which tool call best satisfies the system's goal.
Yes, that’s what it’s for. The framework allows multiple specialized agents to debate using the distinct `send_sms` and `send_whatsapp` tools until a consensus on delivery is reached.
The system interacts with user authentication (OTP), account status, and sender ID lists. These are the critical pieces of information agents must debate over before sending anything.
It's ideal. The framework is built to handle ambiguity, and the MCP Server gives your agents the necessary tools (SMS/WA) to resolve that ambiguity through discussion.
The agents are designed to notice failure. They debate potential fixes, leading one agent to call an alternative tool—like switching from WhatsApp to SMS—to guarantee delivery.
