Autonomous Candidate Sourcing

You can assign an agent to run `get_candidate` repeatedly, simulating a monitoring role. Another specialized agent then uses the retrieved data from `create_candidate` to update records. This gives you true automation: one agent researches candidate availability while another handles the record creation based on predefined rules.

Managing Job Pipelines

A 'Job Manager' agent can run `list_jobs`, filtering by status. Then, a separate 'Recruiting Agent' checks if a suitable job exists using this data. The pipeline is powerful because you don't just list jobs; you analyze the results and decide the next action based on that analysis.

End-to-end HR Automation

The `generate_contract` tool allows one agent to draft a contract. A second, 'Compliance Agent' then verifies all required fields are present before handing it off for final action. Finally, an 'Action Agent' can use the `sign_contract` function once verification is complete. It’s a full sequence of specialized roles.

Setup guide

Set up Troops MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Troops tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Troops Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Troops data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Troops access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Troops transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Troops MCP in CrewAI

You define multiple roles: one agent uses `create_candidate` to register new people, and another uses `get_candidate` to verify the data. This collaboration ensures comprehensive coverage of your hiring pipeline.
Absolutely. You can set up a sequence where one agent runs `list_jobs` to check current openings, and another uses that list to initiate new postings via `create_job` if necessary.
This MCP Server handles key HR records: candidate profiles (data type), job descriptions, finalized contracts, and timesheet submissions. The agents work with these specific datasets.
You'll combine `submit_timesheet` for hours worked and then pass the resulting total through the system that uses `generate_contract` to create an official pay stub or record.
The server touches candidate details, job listings, contracts, and timesheets. The autonomous agents only access what's required for their specific role in the workflow.
