Managing Contacts for the Whole Team

Use `list_contacts` to show every customer in a given location, or use `create_contact` when a new client needs tracking. This ensures everyone on the team works off the same data set. The whole team can rely on `get_contact` to pull up specific details without needing separate logins.

Automating Reviews via MCP Server

The agent uses `send_review_request` to dispatch review requests. It also lets you track what's happening with `list_campaigns`, so the whole team knows which reviews are pending. Need more scope? Use `list_locations` to define where those campaigns should run.

Reporting and Summaries in VS Code Copilot

`get_report_summary` pulls all the performance data into your repo, which is great for commit notes or documentation. You can also use `list_campaigns` to verify that everything was executed correctly. This MCP Server gives you clear visibility over customer feedback.

Setup guide

Set up TrueReview MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the TrueReview MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the TrueReview tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent TrueReview transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.

Common questions about TrueReview MCP in VS Code Copilot

You commit the configuration to `.vscode/mcp.json`. This means every developer on your team gets instant, consistent access to all the tools without manual setup.
Yes. Because the config lives in the repo and it's SOC 2 compliant, it works for engineering teams that need a single source of truth for tooling across multiple developers.
If you ask the agent to pull data—like running `get_report_summary`—it'll execute the tool call, showing you the result right in the chat panel for quick verification.
It manages the full customer journey. You can list locations, create contacts, and then send review requests using a single, unified toolset.
This MCP Server handles `Contacts` data. Since this is committed to the team repo, make sure your team follows all internal guidelines when accessing and modifying client contact details.
