Warranty Claim Workflow via Umbrellar MCP Server

To submit a claim, pipe your product data into `create_claim`. This is perfect for CI/CD: you run the script and it automatically submits the new warranty record. The output gives you the claim ID to log in your build logs. You can also use `list_claims` in a cron job to periodically check the status of multiple claims without opening any GUI.

Policy Management with Claude Code

Use `get_policy` to pull policy details for scripting. You'll feed an ID and order name into the command line, and it spits out JSON you can pipe into other tools. This is how you script complex data lookups. Need to check if a policy exists before running anything? Just use `validate_policy` first.

Syncing Product Data for Automation

`sync_products` enables automated catalog management. Schedule this command to run nightly, ensuring your e-commerce listing matches the Umbrellar records. Before syncing, always use `list_warranties` to grab the current list of plans and ensure nothing was missed in the process.

Common questions about Umbrellar MCP in Claude Code

You run `check_product_eligibility` from your shell script. The output is clean, machine-readable text that you can pipe into a simple conditional check (e.g., 'if result == eligible').
You simply run `list_policies`. The server returns a structured list of policy records that you can parse directly in your shell script or JSON pipeline.
It manages specific claim records. Use `get_claim` to retrieve a single record, and then use that ID with `update_claim` if you need to modify its status in a script.
It is. Since it runs headless, you can schedule commands like `list_claims` or `sync_products` to run reliably as part of a Docker container or GitHub Action.
The server handles policy IDs and claim details. Because it's terminal-only, you control the entire input/output stream, minimizing exposure.
