How to Use the Vonage MCP in Cursor
Inject live Vonage communications data directly into your code with Cursor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Vonage MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Vonage to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Integrate Communications APIs in Cursor
Need to send a message and immediately use the confirmation details? You call `send_sms`, `send_viber_message`, or `send_whatsapp_message`. The API response—like a success status or message ID—gets injected right into your code block. This means you're not dealing with mock data. Your agent uses live Vonage context to write functional, ready-to-run comms logic.
Handle 2FA Logic Directly in Cursor
Building authentication flow? Use `start_verification` to trigger the OTP code and then use `check_verification_code` to validate user input. These tools are perfect for writing state-aware backend logic. If the process gets messy, you can wrap up any active request using `cancel_verification_request` before continuing your development.
Manage and Price Numbers in Cursor
Before sending anything, you need to know what numbers you have. The `list_rented_numbers` tool lets your agent check all virtual numbers on the account. You can also get pricing details by checking `get_country_pricing` for a specific country code. It's also easy to fetch billing info using `get_account_balance`.
